Akshay Naresh is a licensed clinical psychologist and Wright Institute graduate. He has worked in multiple clinical settings including: community mental health, hospitals, university counseling, and private practice. He did his internship at Santa Clara University and his Postdoctoral Residency at Kaiser Permanente, Union City. He currently works at a couple group practices, specializing in immigrant mental health, complex trauma, and identity issues. Akshay currently practices in the Bay Area.
Clinically, Akshay is passionate about immigrant mental health and South Asian mental health, having worked with the AAPI immigrant community and also serving as a board member of a South Asian mental health organization. He wrote his dissertation on Indian immigration and caste.
Outside of his professional life, Akshay is an avid musician and sports enthusiast. He plays pickup basketball and also performs Indian classical flute in the Bay Area.
